The Lord has been adding to my faith in the same proportion and at the same rate that I’ve been learning about Him.  My growing knowledge of God – things that He has shown me in His Word – is the key.

Perhaps the greatest thing I’ve been learning about Him is that my God is all-powerfully Sovereign and therefore nothing happens in my life without His consent.  At the same time, I’ve been learning that He is astonishingly loving and compassionate.  When those two things are brought together – His power and His love – then I can be sure (I AM SURE) that everything works together for the good for someone like me: I am loved, I am called, I am justified, I am chosen, I am predestined to belong to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ, now and for eternity.

 Dead battery?

Sick child?

COVID-19?

Big screw-up?

Absolutely doesn’t matter.  My God allowed it and my God loves me. Therefore, I know He’ll work it out and work it through in one way or another, turning it into a blessing for someone somewhere.  He is constantly teaching me about His greatness and how He works in life.

 Shortfall?

Struggle?

Sickness?

Sin?

No problem to Him.  My God will supply whatever is needed – resources, solutions, healing, forgiveness – according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  My God has no insurmountable problems and so I don’t ever need to be overwhelmed by what happens.

I am overflowing with an inner joy.  In my heart there is a song – constantly.  I relate well to the birds of the air because they don’t have any cares either!  He has promised to take care of me and He has from the time my little heart began to turn to Him as a child- then as a teenager- then as a young man.

My heart is stilling turning toward Him every day.  His Word is my daily bread.  His promises are the foundations of my house.  His Holy Spirit is my constant companion and daily attendant.  He answers me when I call.  He speaks when I need wisdom.

“What shall I return to the Lord for all His goodness to me?  I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the Name of the Lord.”  (Psalm 116:12-13)
